Smart Ways To Save When Traveling Around The USA

Welcome, fellow thrifty senior travelers!
This is where I'll share some of the hard-to-find money-saving secrets I've unearthed while traveling around the U.S. over the years.
I'm not talking about coupon codes or “50% off” offers that disappear tomorrow. I'm talking about the little-known ways to see more, experience more and spend less — often simply by knowing the right question to ask or the right time to visit.
Here are a couple of examples:
Visiting New York City?
General admission to the Metropolitan Museum of Art is currently $30. But we got in free—and you may be able to as well.
I've found a way for seniors to take advantage of that, and I'll explain exactly how on the New York page.
Traveling to San Francisco?
You're going to want to ride a cable car at least once. The regular fare is $9. But seniors can pay $4 at certain times.
And here's another little find: the Cable Car Museum is free. You can actually see the giant winding machinery that pulls San Francisco's cable cars through the city.
That's the kind of information you'll find here.
I'll keep looking for the savings. You keep traveling.
